TVA recognizes MTEMC with award

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) recognized Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation May 11th, for its efforts in the EnergyRight Solutions for Home and Business/Industry program.

The program is designed to educate members on conserving energy, while also providing them money saving tips and programs.

The cooperative was first in the valley overall for kilowatt-hour savings for the eScore program, and was also a top performer in the following areas:

MTE SharingChange donates $5,000 to Interfaith Dental Clinic

Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation’s SharingChange has donated $5,000 of its funds to Interfaith Dental Clinic.

“This donation is greatly appreciated and will help us provide services to those in need,” Interfaith Executive Director Dr. Rhonda Switzer-Nadasdi said. “We hope the benefit to the community will last for generations to come."

Interfaith Dental Clinic provides quality, affordable dental care and oral health education to the elderly, uninsured and low-income working people and their children.

MTEMC storm report to members on March 21

Strong storms rocked the Middle Tennessee Electric service territory yesterday evening causing numerous power outages and broken poles. In all, more than 8,500 members were without power at various times during the evening, but line crews from the cooperative worked hard to restore power as soon as it was safe to do so. 

In total, there were 10 broken poles, four in Rutherford County, five in Cannon County and one in Williamson County.
