At MTEMC, we’re always looking to improve our community. Our Tree Wise program allows students to learn about the importance of planting trees. Arborists and our employees stress the importance of planting trees away from power lines. They also teach our children about the environment and how to make a difference.

Every spring, members of the vegetation management team connect with over 5,000 students, an outreach both the students and teachers seem to love. Plus, more good news. At the end of the presentation, each student is sent home with a sapling to plant with his or her family. “It’s a fun family project,” said Talley Floyd, vegetation management supervisor for MTEMC. Students get to pass along the knowledge they learned in class while they are planting something that can grow for years.”
