TVA outage causes more than 9,000 to lose power in northern Rutherford

A TVA outage knocked out power to three MTEMC substations, resulting in electricity outages for more than 9,000 residential and commercial members in northern Rutherford County.

MTEMC members were out of power for about 15 minutes before TVA resolved its outage. The outage started around 1:15. TVA is investigating the cause of the outage.
